Changes

The horizon of our future is looking a little different these days.  We have a lot of changes going on around here but I've been a little preoccupied to find the time to tell you, in great detail, about everything.

Lately, my time and energy has been going into packing up everything we own so we can move here:
Isn't it amazing?

We go to church with the precious family that owns this (150 year old!) farmhouse.  They have graciously offered to let us live here in exchange for taking care of the animals (horses, sheep, goats, & chickens...oh, my!).  We should officially be moved in the week after Easter.  I'll explain more about this later!

The other major change at the Brock household is our jobs!  I am so proud of my man for landing a job at Sherwin Williams.  He's in the Manager Training Program.  Ironically, this is the same company that he worked for before we moved up here.

And, my job has changed yet again...I know you aren't surprised!  I originally worked at the rockin' cool bead store Panopolie, and then I was given a promotion (read: more hours!) at Ornamentea (same company, yet different store), but then I recently decided to go back to Panopolie because the drive and work load became too much.  This past Monday was my last day working at the downtown store, and it also happened to be the day that I found out some not-so-good-news.  You can read this blog post to get all the details, but basically the owners have decided to close Panopolie.  As of right now, I am still shocked  and saddened because this kinda blew our perfect plan out of the water, however we know this has not caught our God by surprise!

God is doing some crazy good things right now, and we are super excited about all of the changes coming our way.  My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord..."  I am so glad that His plans are so much better than mine!  These are certainly not things that I would have planned for us, but we feel blessed beyond measure!

I can't wait to tell you more about why we are making some of these decisions, and how these changes are really effecting us, and why they are such a blessing!  For those of you that might jump the gun, and I know there are a few of you out there...I'm not pregnant, yet.  I will shout that from the rooftops, trust me!  However, so many things have happened in the last year that have caused us to alter our journey just a little bit.  But our God is amazing, and providing for us every step of the way!  I'm so blessed to be a part of it!

If you think about us in the next two weeks, would you mind saying a quick prayer for us?  We could use energy, wisdom, and strength!  Thank you, thank you, Thank you!

I can't believe. . .

...I put that picture on my blog!  I was highly medicated all weekend to help me breathe because I've had the funk.  So, instead of scrolling down, go over to my sister's blog and feast your eyes on all that cuteness.
I almost can't handle it.

And let me know what you think of the new blog design.  I wanted something very clean and simple, but I don't know if I'm sold on it yet.

Have a fabulous Monday!

Doing Don'ts

I love to blog-hop! As I was jumping from one blog to the next the other day, I found this blog. I immediately knew that I had to share her post on blogging do's & don'ts with you because I do all her don'ts and don't do the do's. Here is her post, and my thoughts about it are below:

Blogging Do’s and Don’ts
On your blog:
1. Don’t apologize for a lack of posts, it’s booooooring.

2. Do be candid and speak openly about what you think. For some reason, we are so interested in other people… this is why the radio, T.V., reality shows, and blogs are so popular. We can’t get enough of what you think!

3. Don’t ignore other blogs. If you want people to comment on your blog, you’ve got to comment on others. Try to post a comment on one new blog a week.

4. Do reply to comments on your blog. It’s polite, and lets people know you are reading them.
5. Don’t post in a hurry! I do this often, and then have typos that I glance over and don’t notice. Now I have a proofer!

6. Do post pictures of yourself. Like I said, we’re curious!

7. Don’t hate on Facebook, Twitter, etc., without having used it.

8. Do be confident!

Now, here are a few of my thoughts after I read her post:

  • So, I guess I'm not going apologize for not blogging. Really, I've not posted because I wanted to avoid be too candid.
  • I know that you are all incredibly annoyed with all of the comments that I've been leaving on your blogs. I'll try to cut back. Sorry, or I'm not sorry. I don't know what I can apologize for right now. (Someone please catch my sarcasim...)
  • And for me replying back to your comments...yikes! I am a little ashamed/embarrassed/pathetic. If you're my friend on Facebook, you should know that it takes a week - minimum - to hear back from me.
  • What is confidence?
  • I hated on Twitter. And I never tried it. But my husband Tweets now, does that make up for it?
  • I try to avoid -at all costs- posting pictures of myself, but I am going to try to take Oh, Brooke's advice. I was playing on Photo Booth the other day, and thought my two curious blog readers might enjoy at least one picture of me:
Seriously, I do have lots of things to tell you about which includes changes in jobs & houses. But I couldn't come back from 5 weeks of not blogging without being a little bit silly, could I?
